Acupuncture For Sciatica

Acupuncture is an alternative Asian treatment that has been proven to help with almost anything that may be occurring in the body. Most importantly Acupuncture is used for pain. It is a very old form of treatment used by Asians a very long time ago and the benefits of it is well known.

This treatment involves taking a very tiny needle and sliding it into the skin.

This will reduce inflammation and help the muscles relax completely, releasing any tension that might be in the muscles already. Acupuncture is now also being discovered as a treatment for Sciatica pain.

For a long time it has been used to treat similar syndromes but for many Sciatica sufferers, this has been a long time coming. If you are suffering from Sciatica and wish to try Acupuncture you need to be aware of some key elements involved in your appointment with your Acupuncturist.

The first point to be aware of is the fact that your Acupuncturist will ask for a full medical history during the appointment to specify what the right course of action will be in your individual case. You’ll also be asked to move and bend and the Acupuncturist will ask you to move and bend assessing your abilities to do such.

This is important since this will inform the Acupuncturist what route the pain is traveling in which will allow them to find the appropriate actions to take in order to relieve your pain. The different meridian points in the body responsible for the different forms of pain will be tapped with a needle in order to relieve pain and help with future attacks of Sciatica. Acupuncture for  Sciatica is an effective way of treating Sciatica pain only if it is combined with other methods of prevention and treatment such as exercises to strengthen the muscles around the Sciatic nerve.
